Frequently Asked Questions

What Does the eDegree Look Like?

Here is an example certificate. In this case, this person has completed all 4 badges.

How Can I Use This on My Resume?

There are a number of ways, but the most common would be to list it under "Education" or "Certifications."
If you completed all four badges, the best way to list it on a resume would be under education, like this:
Complete Musician Program (Music Production, Ableton Live, Music Theory, and Composition), Punkademic Courses Online, [date completed]
If you only completed one, two, or three badged, the best way would be like this:
Online Music Education Courses: Ableton Live and Music Theory Badges Completed. Punkademic Courses Online [date completed]
The term "badge" in academic circles is gaining traction, and one that colleges are becoming familiar with. Many universities are offering "badge" programs similar to this, in which someone can earn something smaller than a full degree, but more than a single course.

Is This an Accredited Degree?

Nope!

The term "badge" in academic circles is gaining traction, and one that colleges are becoming familiar with. Many universities are offering "badge" programs, similar to this, in which someone can earn something smaller than a full degree, but more than a single course.
This is not a college degree, but it shows that you've worked hard at something, and stuck with something for a significant amount of time. That can be valuable to show on a college application, or to a future employer.

Can My eDegree, or Any Courses Here Count Towards a College Degree?

The short answer: Probably not. But maybe.

Although Dr. J is a PhD and a sometimes university professor, these courses are taught outside of an accredited degree program. So they can not be "transferred" in to a college program. However, you should always talk to your admissions representative or advisor and ask. Sometimes they can count courses like these as life experience and waive some requirements. It never hurts to ask.

How Do I Get My Badge?

Once you have finished all the courses in your badge program, fill out this form. That will generate an email to Dr. J HQ, and we will reply with your badge, or any necessary questions. Make sure your name appears exactly how you want it to on the badge when you fill out the form.
The official badge will be sent to you as a PDF file. You can, if you want, print it and frame it. It will be a full-color file, designed for an 8.5x11in page.

What Is The Most Affordable Way To Earn All the Badges?

The most affordable way to achieve any of the badges, is through our subscription program. That will give you access to all of the courses on this website for a low monthly rate. If you don't do that, you will need to purchase each course separately.

Which Specific Courses Do I Need to Complete for Each Badge?

Each badge requires 10 courses in the category. You can see all the categories listed below.

What if I Took Some of the Courses on Another Website?

Then you should know that the teacher didn't get paid very much at all when you bought those courses on another site. But we will accept them anyway. :)

On the form you submit when you complete a badge, it will ask you where you took the classes, and to provide a screenshot of your completion information if it is on another site.

What Does the eDegree Cost?

After completing all the classes, you think we should charge you again for proof that you completed them? That sounds like big university talk.

There is no charge for the eDegree, or to add badges. You will have to buy the class, or the subscription. But we are happy to give you the eDegree for all your hard work and support.
